About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. As a key member of our CAMHS service, you will play a vital role in improving timely access to mental health services for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and young people's mental health needs and associated risks.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate therapeutic interventions, managing a caseload from referral to discharge.
  • Provide comprehensive formulations of needs and appropriate onwards signposting.
  • Participate in regular reviews of cases and attend CAMHS case discussions, conferences, and reviews as necessary.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Current registration with the NMC, Allied Health Professional with HCPC registration, or UKCP registration, with a commitment to Continuing Professional Development.
  • Experience of using assessment skills for mental illness and risk in children and young people.
  • Working knowledge of specialist child and adolescent mental health services and their role in the health and social care community.
  • Demonstrated experience of assessing risk and developing risk management strategies with young people.
