About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join DFS as a Finance Business Partner, working closely with stakeholders to drive performance through strong analytical skills and relationship building. As a key member of the DFS Finance team, you will play a crucial role in supporting decision making and producing high-quality management information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide weekly financial insights to support review of business performance
  • Provide financial analysis, learnings, and recommendations to budget holders and senior finance business partners to support decision making
  • Generate key insights from financial and non-financial information to inform business action plans
  • Responsible for the accuracy of month-end management accounts, including reviewing accruals and prepayments and understanding performance drivers
  • Forecasting and budgetary control for specific areas of the DFS business, and support senior finance business partners with forecasting and budgeting for their areas of responsibility
  • Provide analysis and insight to support and challenge budget holders
  • Monthly reporting to non-financial managers, including trend analysis of key indicators and corrective action plans as required
  • Work with senior finance business partners on specific development projects, developing decision support models
  • Support business case development and play a key role in driving delivery and tracking performance
  • Deputise for senior finance business partners where required

Requirements

  • Commercial acumen and curiosity to understand business performance and appropriate actions
  • Financial modelling skills
  • Strong analytical capabilities to identify insights from a mass of data
  • Dynamic individual with strong communication skills, including to non-financial managers
  • Broad understanding of finance disciplines
  • Strong team player, working with and through others
  • Flexible to manage changing demands
  • Able to work to tight deadlines
  • Degree (or equivalent higher qualification)
  • Professional: final exam stage or newly qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
  • Previous experience in a commercial role
