Job Title: Programme Delivery Manager

As a Programme Delivery Manager at United Utilities, you will be responsible for the ownership and delivery of elements of the Capital Programme, ensuring that the company meets its targets and delivers projects to the required outcomes of time, cost, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage project management plans for each project, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver investment programmes of approximately £25m-£50m, ensuring that projects are designed and delivered in a safe manner and that business objectives are met.
  • Manage risks and changes, escalating issues that affect programme or project delivery, and develop and maintain resource plans to ensure that appropriate resources are in place to deliver the workload.
  • Establish and lead direct project teams, indirectly securing contributions and cooperation from other stakeholders across the business, and manage relationships with the leadership team to ensure that the service being offered meets the wastewater treatment and wastewater networks expectations.
  • Manage and deliver reporting of progress against the overall programme, working with internal senior stakeholders and teams to ensure that they are aware of and aligned to programme requirements.
Requirements:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent industry experience, ideally qualified to ChPP or committed to working towards PMQ/ChPP, NEC3 or 4 qualified or working towards.
  • Demonstrable expertise in delivering complex programmes to challenging timelines, balancing conflicting project priorities to ensure the successful delivery of agreed programme benefits.
  • Ability to harness the full commitment and responsibility of all key stakeholders in delivering the scheme, and to turn strategic ideas and objectives into practical, well-organised plans with a focus on results, standards, and objectives.
  • Excellent financial planning and management skills, with the ability to budget proactively and identify large, high-risk, or volatile elements that need to be cross-referenced to project activity.
