About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Recovery Champion. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting individuals affected by drugs and alcohol to achieve their recovery goals.

  • Provide a welcoming and consistent environment in our open access area, fostering a sense of community and trust among our service users.
  • Build relationships with local communities and work to engage those who are isolated or unaware of available services, providing them with the support and guidance they need to overcome their challenges.
  • Attend team meetings and group supervision to share best practices and collaborate with colleagues to find innovative solutions to complex issues.
  • Meet with individuals in the community to discuss their personal recovery goals and provide support to families affected by addiction, helping them to identify their needs and develop strategies for success.
  • Utilize existing local resources and raise awareness about relevant agencies, ensuring that our service users have access to the support they require.
  • Work closely with the Volunteer and Peer Mentor Coordinator to identify specialist advice and recovery opportunities, helping to empower our service users to take control of their lives.
About You:

We are looking for an individual with lived experience of drug or alcohol misuse, who possesses excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

  • Be able to remain empathetic and non-judgmental, providing a safe and supportive environment for our service users.
  • Confidently work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and travel as required, including to areas with limited public transportation.
