Role Type: Full-Time

We are currently seeking applications for two fixed-term Consultant positions, specifically targeting candidates with a specialization in Glaucoma.
We are in search of two enthusiastic and skilled professionals to fill these roles, primarily based at our esteemed hospital.
Key Responsibilities
These full-time positions are integral to a busy Ophthalmology department. The selected candidates will collaborate with a well-established, multidisciplinary team of Ophthalmic professionals.
We expect the successful candidates to actively engage in the management and enhancement of the service, ensuring the provision of high-quality care while supporting an active training program for junior staff.
The hospital is undergoing significant redevelopment, presenting a unique opportunity to contribute to the future of Ophthalmic care delivery.

Candidate Profile
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- FRCOphth or equivalent qualification
- Fellowship in Glaucoma or equivalent training
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience as a Consultant with a sub-specialty in Glaucoma
- Advanced academic qualifications or awards
Experience Requirements
Essential Skills:
- Proficient in managing glaucoma and primary eye care conditions
- Skilled in cataract surgery
- Experienced in glaucoma filtration and shunt procedures
- Familiar with minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS)
Desirable Skills:
- Management experience in a clinical setting
- Involvement as a principal investigator in clinical research
- Practical experience in service development
Professional Skills
Essential Skills:
- Leadership in clinical settings
- Collaboration within multidisciplinary teams
- Mentoring junior doctors and allied health professionals
- Engagement in clinical governance and audits
