Position Overview

This position is responsible for offering direction and operational guidance to a team, ensuring that services are delivered with the highest standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities include coordinating activities such as biometric passport processing, traffic management, and customer service, alongside other operational tasks as required. Flexibility is essential, as the role involves working across multiple sites and adapting to various operational demands throughout the day. Given the 24/7 nature of port operations, the successful candidate will be expected to work outside standard hours, including weekends, night shifts, and public holidays.

The Operations Team Leader must exhibit outstanding organizational capabilities, contribute to the development of team members, and excel in fostering teamwork, especially in high-pressure environments.

This is a full-time role with a commitment of 42 hours per week.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or people management capacity.
  • Prior experience in a transport or fast-paced operational environment.
  • Proficient in the use and troubleshooting of smart devices.
  • Effective communication and delegation skills.
  • Proven track record in training and mentoring staff.
  • Possession of a full UK driving license is mandatory.
  • Maintain a high standard of conduct and appearance while on duty.
  • Experience in outdoor work under varying weather conditions and flexible hours.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety protocols (IOSH qualification is advantageous).
