Conservation Ecologist | Countryside Management

We are seeking a highly skilled Ecologist to join our team at Countrysidemanagement, specializing in ecological consultancy services. As an Ecologist, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality ecological expertise to ensure our clients' projects move forward while ensuring protection and benefits for nature and wildlife.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct protected species surveys and assessments, including bats, great crested newts, water voles, reptiles, and Schedule 1 birds.
- Perform site and habitat surveys and assessments to identify areas of conservation value.
- Provide conservation management advice on species and habitats to ensure the long-term sustainability of ecosystems.
- Act as an Ecological Clerk of Works on selected projects, ensuring that ecological considerations are integrated into project planning and delivery.
- Hold a degree in ecology or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years' experience working in ecological consultancy or a related sector.
- Have experience in ecological field survey work, including the use of survey equipment and techniques.
- Have a strong understanding of relevant UK environmental legislation and regulations.
- Be a member of (or working towards) the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) or an equivalent professional body with a professional code of conduct.
- Have experience in report writing, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, management plans, and Ecological Impact Assessments.
- Be able to develop mitigation measures to minimize the impact of development on the environment.
- Hold a full clean UK driving licence.
