HGV Class 1 Driver Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and reliable HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team at 24-7 Recruitment Services Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering chilled goods to various locations in the Cullompton, Devon area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely Operate an HGV Class 1 Vehicle: Ensure the safe operation of the delivery vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Load and Unload Goods: Load and unload goods from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling and securing of items.
  • Plan Efficient Routes: Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries.
  • Complete Paperwork: Complete necessary paperwork and logbooks accurately.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to clients and customers.
  • Perform Vehicle Inspections: Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's License: Hold a valid driver's license with the appropriate category for operating a Class 1 vehicle.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with experience driving an HGV vehicle.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
  • Navigational Skills: Ability to navigate using GPS or maps to locate delivery addresses.
  • Communication Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers.
