About the Role
Arla Foods is seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to join our Operations team at our Oswestry Cheese Packaging Facility in Shropshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing our production operations to ensure efficient and effective manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication.
- Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a culture of safety among team members.
- Plan, organise, and coordinate production activities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Develop production schedules and allocate resources to achieve production targets and meet customer requirements.
- Monitor and analyse production processes to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations in the production facility.
- Manage and motivate a team of production staff, providing guidance, training, and support to enhance their skills and productivity.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as quality assurance, and maintenance, to ensure smooth production flow and resolve any issues or bottlenecks.
- Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure products meet the required standards.
- Analyse production data and generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in production technology to recommend and implement innovative solutions.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Production Manager or in a similar role, preferably in the food or beverage industry.
- In-depth knowledge of production processes, quality control principles, and safety regulations.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to analyse production data and generate meaningful reports.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in using production management software and MS Office applications.
- Flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- High levels of enthusiasm and a positive attitude to change and problem solving.
