Job Title: English Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our team at a small specialist school in Darwen, Lancashire.

About the Role:

As a Class English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, challenging, and differentiated educational activities and experiences to our pupils. Your role will involve:

  • Delivering the curriculum as prescribed by our schemes of work
  • Effectively planning lessons that cater to a wide range of abilities and communication needs
  • Working with the Head Teacher and other members of the leadership team to ensure the successful delivery of the school's vision, ethos, and objectives
  • Delivering effective teaching and learning, monitoring, and evaluating the quality of teaching support and standards of student achievement
  • Participating in the recruitment and retention of the best employees and ensuring an effective induction for all new starters
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher status
  • Desirable but not essential, knowledge and experience of the KS3 and 4 curriculum and examinations
  • Thorough working knowledge of the curriculum and how to adapt it for pupils with SEN
  • Desirable, experience of working with young people with ASD and SEMH
  • Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedure
  • Ability to create and maintain nurturing relationships with young people
  • Experience of managing a range of approaches to learning, to include students with anxiety
  • Knowledge of strategies and visual teaching methods to engage reluctant learners
