We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Architect to lead the design and implementation of cloud infrastructure solutions that drive business growth and innovation. As a senior member of our Cloud Centre of Excellence team, you will leverage your expertise to develop and maintain cloud-based systems that meet the evolving needs of our organization.

This is a pivotal role in the design and delivery of AWS hosted cloud infrastructure components in line with our strategy and aligned to our strategic cloud design. You will be equally as comfortable building a proof of concept of a new solution as 'picking up the pen' and sketching an idea on a whiteboard to an agile team.

You will work closely with our Project teams, to provide direction, prioritisation and technical insight in articulating and delivering architectural choices within various AWS services and solution methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions that meet business requirements and drive innovation.
  • Develop and maintain cloud-based systems that meet the evolving needs of our organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise and guidance on cloud architecture and infrastructure.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies, trends, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to drive business growth and innovation.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base to support cloud infrastructure solutions.
Requirements:
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in the AWS cloud platform with a deep understanding of cloud services and infrastructure.
  • Experience: A proven track record of deploying and managing cloud-based solutions in a professional setting.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Adept at diagnosing complex issues and implementing effective solutions to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Automation and Scripting: Experience with automation tools and scripting languages such as Python and/or Terraform to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Security Awareness: Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance.
  • Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and contribute to collaborative projects.
  • Continuous Learning: A passion for staying updated with the latest cloud technologies, trends, and best practices, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Certifications: Relevant industry certifications including but not limited to AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
What We Offer:
  • Salary: circa £85-90k per annum
  • Annual performance-related bonus: 25% based on both company and individual performance
