Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Materials Scientist to join our team at Versarien. The successful candidate will have a strong background in composite materials and processing methods, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in materials development and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop graphene-enhanced polymer composites and coatings, and assist with the creation of research papers and IP.
  • Develop and implement robust QA/QC processes to verify the quality of GRM/polymer composites and products at various stages of the manufacturing process.
  • Lead work package activities on materials development and composite manufacturing processes, and work with a team of senior scientists, project scientists, and project technicians in a client-facing role.
  • Travel to UK and globally, and attend relevant conferences and trade shows.

Requirements:

  • PhD or equivalent experience in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or closely related disciplines.
  • Proven project management skills and ability to provide written proposals for new R&D projects.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with proven hands-on experience in preparation, optimisation, and characterisation of composite materials or coatings.
