Job Summary

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Client Secondary School in Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning journey of students and contributing to their personal growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in delivering high-quality education to students with diverse needs.
  • Support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH) and Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Work under the direction and guidance of teachers to support individuals, small groups, and whole class situations.
  • Conduct general teaching assistant duties, including administration tasks.
  • Use strategies to support pupils to achieve learning goals, in liaison with relevant staff members.
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour support.
  • Support with the planning of learning activities.
Requirements
  • Hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant Certificate, Diploma, or Qualification.
  • Have at least 6 months' experience in an educational setting, which can be referenced.
  • Be able to engage with young people and build effective relationships.
  • Be confident in managing behaviour within a school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one with GSL Education.
