About the Role

We're investing in our branches and contact centers to provide a harmonious blend of human and digital services.

To drive this transformation, we need a skilled DevOps Specialist to join our Customer Servicing Application Portfolio Management value stream.

We're seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of experience to join our team.

This role can be based in one of our offices, with 2 days per week required on-site.

About the Team

Our Customer Servicing domain drives the systems used by our front-line colleagues to support our members.

We're modernizing our contact center through the adoption of a cloud-native platform on AWS.

  • We're driving an agenda to increase 'straight through processing' and reduce manual handling.
  • We're giving our members more choice in how they communicate with us through chatbots and virtual assistants.

You'll be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the DevOps pipelines that underpin our Customer Servicing applications.

You'll shape future DevOps solutions, seek out new opportunities for automation, and minimize technical debt.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team at a time of real change, where you'll be at the heart of driving the DevOps agenda and making a real impact.

About the Role

You'll have a broad range of experience in 'on-premise' Windows estates, along with experience driving modernization agendas to adopt and exploit cloud-native technology in a regulated environment.

You'll have contracted hours, but we're happy to support flexible working wherever possible.

You'll work across our core platforms, championing our use of DevOps and supporting engineers working in development teams.

You'll be responsible for the optimization of our DevOps pipelines and tooling, working closely with lead engineers to create and deliver automation strategies.

You'll help remove blockers for the team, increasing maturity in Agile and DevOps approaches to improve flow and quality.

In our regulated environment, you'll ensure that all CTO guardrails are adhered to, enabling traceability and evidence for the direction taken.

About the Requirements
  • Expert skills in DevOps processes, techniques, and modern toolsets.
  • Hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
  • VMs, Containers, Storage, Security Configuration.
  • Hands-on experience using at least one modern programming language: C#/.NET, Python, etc., and scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash.
  • Experience automating the creation and maintenance of complex cloud infrastructure using Automation and Configuration Management tools such as Terraform.
  • The ability to understand complex problems, providing root cause analysis, and identifying options for resolution.

Microsoft or AWS Certified.

  • Knowledge of Financial services and Colleague-facing solutions.
  • AWS Connect or MS Power Apps.
