Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled expert in immunoassays to contribute to Abcam's Antibody Product Portfolio expansion.

The successful candidate will work within the Characterisation Team, passionate about validating antibodies to the highest standard.

The Characterisation Team is part of the Antibody Validation Group, playing a crucial role in the validation and characterization of new antibodies and new lots of existing products, ensuring functionality for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry experiments.
  • Imaging using manual and automated microscopy in brightfield and fluorescence (Leica Aperio AT2, confocal Leica SP8, Operetta high-content analyzer - HCA).
  • Contribute to ideas and establishment of protocol and protocol improvements, taking responsibility for validating new assay protocols and their integration into standard work streams.
  • Actively seek to improve testing conditions for individual antibody products and product groups to best demonstrate their performance.

Requirements

You will have a PhD in a life sciences field or an MSc and a number of years in industry. You should have experience using antibodies for Flow Cytometry and IHC experiments and a firm understanding of principles, literature, and methods in at least one of these techniques. Your excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise, multitask, and work to deadlines, make you a great team player, able to facilitate open and constructive communication within the team and across the company.
