MIG Welder Fabricator Role:

As a skilled MIG Welder Fabricator at Kinetic PLC, you will be working in partnership with a leading engineering company, specialists in the design, offsite manufacture, and installation of mechanical and electrical solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to work in the structural fabrication team, where you will be involved in the fabrication of steel structures, including beams, supports, and other parts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform MIG welding on carbon (mild) steels ranging from 7mm to 20mm in thickness.
  • Ensure that all welds meet the required quality standards and are free from defects.
  • Work safely and efficiently in a clean and well-maintained workshop environment.
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve project deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to improve your skills and knowledge in welding and fabrication techniques.
Benefits and Salary:

As a MIG Welder Fabricator at Kinetic PLC, you will enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package, including:

  • A starting pay rate of £31,434 (£16.12 per hour), rising to £34,067 (£17.47 per hour) upon successful completion of Butt & Fillet weld qualifications and crane license.
  • Overtime available, with qualified welders earning circa £40k per annum.
  • 28 days' holiday per annum (pro rata) for the first 12 weeks, increasing to 33 days.
  • Immediate start following weld test on site and 'temp to perm' after successful completion of 18 weeks.
Requirements:
  • Understanding and competence in multiple welding practices, including MMA, MIG/MAG.
  • Two weld qualifications (codings) paid for by the company and undertaken within the first 2-4 weeks of starting.
  • Use of plasma and Oxy Acy cutting equipment.
  • Competence in steel work fabrications in line with drawings, specs, dimensions, and tolerances.
  • Safe setup and use of welding plant and equipment.
  • Understanding of welding defects and possible causes.
