Our client, Taylor Hopkinson | Powered by Brunel, is a leading provider of engineering and construction solutions within the renewable energy sector. As part of their expansion in the UK market, they are seeking a Renewable Energy Project Coordinator. This role presents an excellent opportunity for individuals with commercial and industrial solar experience who are eager to transition into larger-scale projects.
This position requires a blend of technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills, as effective collaboration with clients and internal teams is crucial.
The selected candidate should possess, or be willing to acquire, the necessary technical competencies for the role, including site oversight, construction monitoring, tender assistance, photovoltaic (PV) system design, and energy evaluations.
The ideal applicant will have a background with an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firm or a PV Developer, ideally with familiarity in UK solar projects or the local market. However, we are open to various levels of experience, as development support will be tailored to the qualifications and background of the chosen candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Development: Provide technical guidance to stakeholders throughout various project stages, including feasibility assessments, design, permitting, tendering, construction, and commissioning.
- On-Site Oversight: A significant aspect of your role will involve on-site activities. You will oversee construction processes, ensure quality control, and guarantee that projects progress smoothly and adhere to timelines.
- Budget Management: Monitor internal expenditures to ensure that projects are completed within the financial parameters established with clients.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among diverse project participants, including clients, external service providers, and subcontractors.
- Documentation Management: Maintain comprehensive client and project records, and prepare and review project and technical reports.
- Business Development: Participate in industry events as necessary, and manage client inquiries and support requests.
- Commercial Support: Assist in the preparation and development of leads and proposals.
- Regulatory Compliance: Familiarize yourself with, or enhance your understanding of, the primary national and international standards relevant to PV installations in the UK, and suggest optimizations to internal templates, methods, and processes.
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
- Degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical Engineering, though other STEM qualifications will be considered.
Language Proficiency:
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is advantageous.
Technical Expertise:
- Experience in PV project development, construction, or operations is essential. Familiarity with EPC and related contracts is beneficial. Previous experience in other construction sectors will also be valued.
- Strong engineering background, ideally in electrical engineering, though civil or structural engineering qualifications are also acceptable.
- Project management certifications (APM / PRINCE 2 or equivalent) are highly regarded.
- Proficient writing skills, with the ability to produce technical reports and commercial proposals.
- Knowledge of UK permitting processes for solar PV and energy storage projects is preferred.
