Job Description:

Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation, is seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic for a 2-month contract. The successful candidate will work on a rate of £18.82/hour PAYE.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the allocation of work and administration of the vehicle workshop
  • Provide fleet vehicle and plant maintenance, including MOT and taxi testing

Requirements:

  • Practical mechanical understanding of HGV commercial vehicle maintenance, cars, and plant
  • Operation of computer-based software and IT auditing systems
  • Physical ability to perform practical garage work
  • LGV inspection and testing standards and principles
  • Fault diagnosis of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Commercial garage operations
  • MOT legislation
  • Minimum of 5 years of practical mechanical maintenance of HGV commercial vehicles
  • City and Guilds Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair level 3 or equivalent qualification
  • LGV Class C driving licence

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Up-to-date MOT testers qualification
  • Vehicle inspection accreditation
  • Assessment and writing risk assessments
  • Light vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Commercial fleet operation and legislation
