Vehicle Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering Team at FedEx. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and reliability of our fleet of vehicles and trailers by performing service and maintenance in accordance with planned schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completion of signed service and inspection records
  • Completion of defect reports and associated paperwork to comply with legal requirements
  • Preparation of vehicles and trailers for annual MOT testing to ensure a first-time pass
  • Performance of ad-hoc vehicle repairs, investigating and rectifying vehicle defects
  • Maintenance of good housekeeping standards and carrying out any other duties deemed reasonable by Management

Requirements:

  • Fully skilled with applicable Licenses / Vocational Training (e.g., LGV C&E licence (class one))
  • City & Guilds parts 1 & 2 or equivalent in commercial vehicle repairs
  • Knowledge of the use and operation of all automotive equipment and testing / troubleshooting equipment
  • Ability to lift and manoeuvre Heavy Vehicle Components
  • Experience with welding and basic D.C. electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Valid driving license
  • Previous experience within a similar role
