About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Crane Maintenance Specialist to join our client's expanding team in Leeds. As a Crane Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for the inspection, repair, maintenance, and modernization of all types of overhead cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of overhead cranes and hoists to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks on electrical and mechanical components of overhead cranes and hoists
  • Modernize and upgrade existing equipment to improve efficiency and safety
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures
  • Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues and clients
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical engineering
  • Heavy industrial plant mechanic experience is preferred
  • Full UK driving license
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for customer relations
  • Ability to work at heights responsibly
  • Experience with electrical systems, including 3-phase 415vac motors, contactor control circuits, and frequency speed/inverter control devices
  • Experience with mechanical systems, including medium to large drive couplings, brakes, and reduction gearboxes
  • Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Experience with overhead crane maintenance and inspection routines
  • Experience with industrial radio control systems
  • Knowledge/experience of vacuum lifting equipment, manipulators, electromagnets, or other material handling equipment
  • Positive attitude towards health and safety
  • Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to overcome technical challenges
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as per business requirements
