Orthopaedic Technician Specialist

About the Role
NHS Professionals Limited is seeking an experienced Orthopaedic Technician to provide high-quality patient care in the Orthopaedic Outpatients department. As an Orthopaedic Technician Specialist, you will be responsible for providing patient-centered casting services, including routine and complex plaster techniques, and supporting patients during cast application and removal.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered casting services, including routine and complex plaster techniques.
- Support patients during cast application and removal, and provide advice on cast care and maintenance.
- Work effectively as an empowered member of the multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with Senior Plaster Technicians and registered Nurses to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Expand your skills and knowledge to meet the needs of children and families attending the plaster room, demonstrating a commitment to continuous professional development.
Requirements
- BOA/RCN (SON) AOT Diploma in casting techniques/British Casting Certificate.
- Willingness to expand role and skills to meet the needs of children and families attending the plaster room.
- Demonstrates a commitment to continuous professional development.
- Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology relevant to orthopaedics.
- Able to work effectively as an empowered member of the multi-disciplinary team.
- Aware of professional responsibilities in the management and treatment of patients.
