Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a school setting. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to plan and deliver tailored educational activities, providing one-to-one support to students who require additional help. Your role will be to create a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students, collaborating with other staff members to ensure engagement of non-verbal students.

Required Qualifications:
  • Enhanced DBS check
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities

Education:
  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths

Experience:
  • Previous experience working with students with SEND
  • Experience in a classroom setting

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Understanding of different learning needs and how to support them
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Patience and empathy towards students with SEND

Preferred Qualifications:
  • First Aid certification
  • Training in behaviour management techniques
  • Health and Social Care
  • Cache level 3
  • Manual handling

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
