Job Description

Job Title: Lead Electrical Design Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join our design studio at our Head Office in Southampton.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of electrical design, including project specific design deliverables and design in accordance with M&E Design QA Procedures.
  • Carry out detailed design in accordance with the Trant Procedures and communicate with clients, external design resources, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with specification.
  • Conduct site surveys of existing assets, produce procurement specifications for electrical equipment, and create detailed design construction drawings.
  • Project manage third-party designs, provide design assistance to installation and commissioning teams, and review vendor data and drawings for all electrical equipment and package plant.
  • Manage internal and external project specific design costs in liaison with the Project Manager, undertake and check design calculations, including modeling of the complete power system (AMTECH).
  • Prepare drawings for CAD production, produce electrical scope and works enquiry submission documents, and undertake design risk assessments to support detailed design proposals.
  • Prepare detailed electrical specifications, produce single line and block cable diagrams, load schedules, equipment specifications, cable schedules, equipment schedules, telemetry schedules, instrument schedules, and I/O listings.
  • Record and document all design changes through to completion and issue of 'As Built' documents.

Requirements:

  • An appropriate electrical qualification or by experience.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
