Role Summary:
We are in search of a competent and dependable Site Operative to become a vital part of our client's construction crew. The Site Operative will play a crucial role in preparing and sustaining construction environments, ensuring they are secure and conducive for other trades to operate effectively. This position demands a robust work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and the capability to perform under varying weather conditions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Clear construction areas by removing debris, excavating trenches, and compacting soil materials.
- Set up drainage systems, install piping, and establish manholes and inspection chambers.
- Mix and pour concrete for foundational structures, footings, and other essential components.
- Aid in the construction of roadways, pathways, and other ground-level infrastructure.
- Uphold compliance with health and safety standards on all assignments.
- Collaborate effectively with other construction professionals, including engineers, architects, and project supervisors.
- Conduct general maintenance and repair duties on construction sites as required.
- Demonstrated experience as a Site Operative or in a comparable role within the construction sector.
- Familiarity with construction methodologies, tools, and safety protocols.
- Ability to interpret and understand construction plans and blueprints.
- Skilled in utilizing hand and power tools pertinent to the role.
- Physical endurance and the capacity to engage in manual labor in diverse weather conditions.
- Strong collaborative and communication abilities.
- A valid driver's license and dependable transportation are preferred.
- Certification in construction safety (e.g., CSCS card) is advantageous.
