We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented professional to join our team at OCU as a Construction Project Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the pre-construction phase of infrastructure projects with a particular focus on health and safety planning, street works liaison, wayleaves, consents, and DNO/iDNO liaison. This role demands a strong understanding of construction processes, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pre-Construction Planning:
    • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop detailed pre-construction plans.
    • Attend site surveys and arrange intrusive early works surveys.
    • Review and approve project designs, schedules, and budgets.
    • Identify potential issues and develop solutions to mitigate risks.
    • Manage the conceptual design to construction design process.
    • Ensure all pre-construction activities are completed on time and within budget.
  • Health and Safety Planning:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety plans for pre-construction activities.
    • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
    • Act as the primary contact for all street works activities related to infrastructure projects.
    • Liaise with local authorities, utility companies, and contractors to coordinate street works.
    • Manage traffic management plans and minimize disruption to the public.
    • Secure necessary wayleaves, easements, and other legal consents for project sites.
    • Ensure all consents are obtained in a timely manner to meet project deadlines.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure all pre-construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Prepare and submit necessary documentation to regulatory authorities.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with all project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
    • Communicate project progress, issues, and solutions to stakeholders.
    • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in pre-construction management, with a focus on health and safety planning, street works liaison, wayleaves, and consents.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure or similar scale projects.
  • Proven track record of managing pre-construction activities and securing necessary consents.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
