Position: CNC Miller Programmer and Operator

Shift: Day shift Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.30pm, Friday 7.30am to 12.30pm

Location: North Bristol

Join a dynamic and established precision engineering firm located in North Bristol. We are seeking a qualified CNC Miller to effectively program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines utilizing Heidenhain controls.

Key Responsibilities – CNC Miller Programmer and Operator

  • Accurately interpret and analyze technical drawings to machine various materials according to customer specifications and requirements.
  • Perform assigned tasks as directed by management while maintaining a safe and organized workspace, adhering to established safety protocols.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, breakdowns, or concerns to management promptly.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to support departmental and organizational goals.
  • Ensure all incidents of lost time, minor injuries, and accidents are documented.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
  • Assist the engineering team with quotations as necessary.
  • Support tooling buy-off and trial processes.
  • Self-inspect work using precision measurement tools and devices.
  • Involve in assembling, fitting, and repairing tools as required.

Qualifications & Requirements – CNC Miller Programmer and Operator

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Effective problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a small team.
  • Solid understanding of customer deliverables and the implications of quality failures.
  • Previous experience in the aerospace tool-making sector is advantageous.
  • Completion of an engineering apprenticeship as a tool maker or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a tool-making or engineering environment.
  • Familiarity with MRP systems and adherence to standard operating procedures/work order instructions.
