As an Operations Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in leading a dedicated team to ensure the seamless execution of operational tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary focus will be to guide, coordinate, and inspire a high-performing group. You will be actively involved in various processes, from assessment and troubleshooting to upkeep and enhancement of systems. Your leadership will ensure that all operations are conducted efficiently and adhere to the highest standards of quality.

Safety Management

Establishing and maintaining robust safety protocols will be a critical aspect of your role. You will ensure that all personnel, including contractors, comply with established safety practices. Your proactive approach will involve monitoring and evaluating the quality of work, ensuring that all assets meet compliance standards and that all equipment is suitable for operational needs.

Reporting and Development

Throughout your tenure, you will be responsible for compiling essential reports that reflect operational performance. At Network Rail, we are committed to fostering personal growth and will support your professional development through accredited programs and opportunities for further education and qualifications.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proven experience in managing and overseeing the safe and effective delivery of operational tasks.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific maintenance, assessment, troubleshooting, and enhancement techniques.
  • Understanding of relevant standards, procedures, and operational guidelines.
  • A clear and motivating leader with a strong vision.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Possession or pursuit of an NVQ level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness and ability to operate vehicles as required by operational needs.
  • IRSE Licensed in relevant categories or working towards such a license.
  • Competencies in safety-critical roles and operational management.

Work Schedule

This position requires flexibility, including day, night, and weekend shifts, and is classified as a safety-critical role, subject to regular health assessments and compliance with safety regulations.
