Role Overview

As a Senior Project Controller, your responsibilities will encompass a range of critical project control functions within significant defense initiatives, from inception through to completion. This involves the formulation and execution of robust project control strategies, including schedule revisions, cost predictions, and variance assessments, ensuring that projects adhere to their financial and timeline commitments.

On a daily basis, you will work in close collaboration with program teams to create financial and scheduling estimates and forecasts, pinpointing potential risks and discrepancies that could affect the Estimate to Complete (ETC). You will also be tasked with evaluating and managing the financial and scheduling repercussions of alterations in project scope, requirements, or objectives, updating forecasts as necessary.

  • Support project teams in all facets of Project Cost Management
  • Prepare and present all essential internal and external project control documentation and reports
  • Maintain the integrated master schedule, advising on critical paths and scheduling challenges
  • Contribute to the creation and management of Control Account Plans, including establishing basis of estimates and cost-related assumptions
  • Gather, organize, and present data necessary for Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting
  • Provide essential input for Cost Risk Analysis (CRA)
  • Coordinate and develop project/programme expenditure forecasts, cost reconciliations, and variance analyses
  • Coordinate and develop project work-in-progress (WIP), commitments, and estimate at complete (EAC) forecasts

This position is full-time, comprising 37 hours per week, and includes flexible working arrangements.

Essential Experience Required

  • Ideal candidates will possess a background in project management and project controls, seeking a new direction, along with individuals with existing project controller experience.
  • Significant experience in the advanced application of Project Management methodologies within a relevant technical project context throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Prior experience with complex defense and/or engineering projects/programmes is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with SRA/CRA and EVM methodologies.

Security Clearance
