Intelligence Analyst Position Overview

The role of an Intelligence Analyst presents a wide array of opportunities across multiple sectors, including defense, public safety, financial services, and commercial enterprises. As an Intelligence Analyst, your key responsibilities will encompass:

  • Gathering, assessing, and interpreting intelligence from diverse sources
  • Tracking and evaluating radio and electronic communications globally
  • Analyzing aerial or satellite imagery through sophisticated systems
  • Providing customized intelligence reports to decision-makers and operational teams

Essential Educational Qualifications

  • Minimum of GCSEs at grade C/4 or Scottish National 5 grade C in English Language and Mathematics

Key Requirements

  • Must be aged between 17.5 and 47 years old (must enlist before turning 48)
  • Must be a UK citizen from birth with no dual nationality
  • Willingness to commit to at least 3 years following specialized training
  • Must meet specified health and fitness standards

Apprenticeship Opportunities

The Royal Air Force offers a variety of apprenticeship programs, including a Higher Apprenticeship in Intelligence Operations. Intelligence Analysts may serve in numerous organizations and roles, playing a vital part in the generation of intelligence assessments and reports.

Career Advancement

Commitment and Location Considerations

Working at RAF bases provides a unique environment, and Reserve personnel are expected to commit to a minimum of 27 days annually. Proximity to assigned airbases is crucial.
