Job Purpose:
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking various tasks related to food preparation, cooking, and serving, under the supervision of a Cook or Supervisor. Our kitchen has been accredited with the Healthy Living Award, and the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to maintaining this standard.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving of food and beverages, adhering to high standards of hygiene and health and safety.
- Clean and maintain the kitchen, its surroundings, and equipment, ensuring a clean and safe environment for staff and service users.
- Prepare and cook simple meals and snacks, using fresh ingredients and adhering to dietary requirements.
- Transport and serve meals to service users, ensuring a high level of customer service.
- Perform other duties as required by the Catering Supervisor, including general kitchen and dining area duties.
Requirements:
- Possession of a Food Handling Certificate is desirable.
- Previous experience working in a large kitchen is desirable.
- Clean and tidy appearance.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Personal Qualities:
- Positive and friendly attitude.
- A self-starter with a high level of motivation.
- Excellent team player with good time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to cope well under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Patient and flexible approach to work.
