Job Title: EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Mainstream Primary School in Blackburn. As an EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with special educational needs within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

About the Role:

As an EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement individualised learning plans, foster a nurturing learning environment, and ensure each child reaches their full potential. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to children with SEN.
  • Assisting in the planning and delivery of activities that promote social, emotional, and educational development.
  • Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents/carers.
  • Creating a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where children feel safe and valued.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working with young children, ideally within a nursery or primary school setting.
  • Knowledge of EYFS curriculum and strategies for supporting children with SEN.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support children with diverse learning needs.
  • Psychology graduates or experienced nursery practitioners are encouraged to apply.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
