The Role: Relief HGV Class 1 Driver

We are seeking experienced and reliable Class 1 Tramper Drivers to join our team on a relief basis. This role involves collecting and delivering customer products throughout the UK, ensuring timely and secure transportation of goods.

  • Your Responsibilities:
  • Operate a curtain-sided trailer to transport various types of cargo across the UK.
  • Ensure accurate loading and unloading procedures, utilizing ratchet straps for secure load containment.
  • Maintain detailed records using handheld PDAs and communicate effectively with the transport team.
  • Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients both in person and over the phone.
  • Adhere to all relevant road safety regulations and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Be flexible and adaptable, working independently and as part of a team.

Essential Skills:

  • Valid UK Class 1 (CE) Driving Licence.
  • Current Digital Tachograph Driver Card and CPC Qualification.
  • Proven experience in delivering loads to client sites.
  • Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent geographical knowledge and navigational skills.
  • Physically fit and capable of handling demanding tasks.
