Job Overview

As an IT Support Field Engineer, you will deliver exceptional technical assistance across various locations, ensuring a seamless experience for end users. Your role will involve hands-on support with hardware installations and repairs, as well as troubleshooting a diverse array of devices.

Willingness to travel to different regions is essential, with the possibility of occasional overnight stays when required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform installation and repair of PCs, laptops, and printers.
  • Set up and troubleshoot networking equipment and WiFi access points.
  • Manage installation and maintenance of digital and VOIP telecommunication systems.
  • Provide software support for Microsoft Windows, Office Suite, Exchange, and Active Directory.
  • Handle ticket escalation, updates, and resolutions in line with team service level agreements.
  • Collaborate with team members during extensive site renovations.
  • Deliver regular and on-demand updates to the Field Team leadership as necessary.
  • Document all project-related work accurately.
  • Coordinate with other IT department teams, including remote support and third-line infrastructure, for daily operations and special projects.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform additional tasks as required to support the IT department's daily operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficient in hardware, including Intel-based desktops, laptops, and servers (predominantly HP and Dell), with the ability to provide component-level break/fix support. Familiarity with all versions of Windows operating systems, including Windows Server.
  • Strong networking knowledge with a solid understanding of DHCP, TCP/IP, and DNS.
  • A valid UK driving license with a clean record for at least one year.
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication skills and a customer-centric approach.
  • Ability to engage with a diverse range of individuals, regardless of their technical proficiency.
  • Capable of independently resolving complex issues through expertise and research.
  • Experience collaborating with third-party vendors, both on-site and remotely.
  • Sound understanding of health and safety policies and procedures.
