We are seeking a dedicated Quality Auditor to become an integral part of our Engineering Team at Fletchers Bakery, a member of the Finsbury Food Group.

As a prominent player in the specialty bakery sector, we are committed to enhancing quality and operational efficiency while fostering enduring partnerships with major retailers and the foodservice industry. Our products range from delightful sharing cakes to exquisite celebration treats, all crafted with care and precision.

The Quality Auditor will play a vital role in our proactive maintenance team, focusing on mechanical aspects while ensuring that our production processes meet the highest standards. This position requires a meticulous approach to maintenance tasks and a proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues effectively. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role involves collaboration within a culture of continuous improvement, aimed at enhancing operational efficiencies and minimizing waste.

This fast-paced position demands excellent mechanical and electrical engineering capabilities, alongside robust organizational skills to manage our site CMMS system effectively. The successful candidate will also be expected to mentor and guide fellow engineers and production staff.

Key Responsibilities

As a Quality Auditor, you will take charge of site breakdowns, ensuring swift diagnosis and corrective measures. Adherence to Health and Safety and Hygiene standards is paramount, as is the commitment to best practices. You will oversee the timely completion of planned maintenance tasks while continuously seeking improvements to bolster equipment reliability and support efficiency objectives.

This role offers ample opportunities for professional growth and involvement in project initiatives. Attention to detail is crucial, as you will be responsible for troubleshooting both modern and legacy equipment, working collaboratively across teams.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Completion of a Time Served Apprenticeship or possession of an NVQ Level 3 equivalent
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience in fault diagnosis and PLC modifications
  • Completion of IPATH training
  • Capability to mentor and coach fellow engineers
  • Proficient in general PC operations

The ideal candidate will also possess knowledge and experience in:

  • Machinery lathe/miller operations
  • MIG/TIG welding
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing
