Role Overview

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in processing and investigating insurance claims related to General Liability and property policies. This position requires collaboration with policyholders, colleagues, and various professionals to validate claims effectively. As a claims handler, you will manage the entire claims process from initiation to settlement, making critical decisions and monitoring for potential fraudulent activities. You will also handle both own and third-party property damage claims, necessitating a solid understanding of the sector and applicable laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage General Liability and Property Liability claims from initiation through to settlement.
  • Possess knowledge of building repair organization and reinstatement costs, including plastering, tiling, flooring, and carpentry.
  • Gather and maintain relevant information and documentation to support claims, ensuring accurate records within the system.
  • Communicate with customers, third parties, and legal representatives, providing guidance on any arising issues.
  • Collaborate with adjusters, examiners, and investigators to assess insurance claims.
  • Conduct thorough investigations to confirm the legitimacy of claims.
  • Work alongside risk analysts, brokers, and underwriters to facilitate settlements.
  • Ensure fair settlements and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Utilize our customized IT system designed to enhance your efficiency and manage your workload effectively.
  • Maintain direct communication lines and access relevant mailboxes for efficient email management.
Candidate Profile - Knowledge and Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in handling and investigating own and third-party property damage claims.
  • Experience collaborating with loss adjusters to assess damage levels.
  • Strong understanding of water damage, flood, and fire claims, along with the claims lifecycle.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with adjusters, examiners, and investigators.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong active listening abilities.
  • Proficient in multitasking, prioritizing, and time management.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with loss adjusters and other professionals.
  • Solid understanding of the legal framework related to claims.
