About the Role
Auburn University's McCrary Institute for Cyber and Critical Infrastructure Security seeks a highly skilled Digital Repository Manager to lead the creation, maintenance, and curation of a comprehensive digital repository hosting a diverse range of cybersecurity content. This position will ensure compliance with copyright laws and Auburn University policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Web Engineer, Web Designer, Auburn Library, and external vendors and partners to create and maintain a repository with curated, organized, and diverse content, including cyber security research, op-eds, news, event information, and academic articles.
- Oversee the successful operation of a dedicated cybersecurity news site and associated daily digital newsletter, ensuring timely updates and relevance of content.
- Verify materials for authenticity, physical condition, and historical content, and analyze materials to spot defects and determine inclusion in collections.
- Supervise contractors and services to ensure effective creation and maintenance of the digital library and associated repository, managing relationships with external vendors and partners.
- Provide support and assistance to individuals accessing the archives to retrieve information or conduct research.
- Continually identify, curate, and update the digital library with relevant and engaging cybersecurity content, ensuring compliance with copyright laws and university policies.
- Work closely with the Auburn University library to develop and integrate the cyber research and policy systems and materials with the Institute's digital library system.
- Collaborate with the Institute's Senior Fellows, research and policy teams to ensure seamless access to materials through the Institute's digital library, providing support and training as needed.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with other libraries and digital vendors to secure licensed access to materials for the digital archives, ensuring a rich and comprehensive collection of resources.
- Implement and manage analytics tools to track the usage of the digital repository, preparing regular reports on repository usage, content growth, and other key metrics to inform strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with the Web Engineer and Designer to enhance the user experience of the digital repository, ensuring accessibility to users with disabilities and compliance with relevant accessibility standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain metadata standards for the digital repository, ensuring consistent and accurate metadata across all digital assets to facilitate easy search and retrieval of information.
- Develop and implement long-term digital archival strategies to ensure the longevity and accessibility of digital assets.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Library, Information Systems, History, Library Science, Archival Science, or a related field.
- 4 years of experience in working in archival collections or curation of historical records in a museum or public history setting.
- Knowledge in preserving historical collections, storage, and conservation techniques.
