Meridian Business Support is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager for a prominent National Private Healthcare Provider.
In this role, you will collaborate with the home manager to oversee the daily operations of the care facility. As part of a dedicated management team, you will work closely with nursing staff and caregivers to ensure a high standard of service delivery that meets the needs of residents. Your primary focus will be on ensuring optimal nursing and clinical care for residents while actively contributing to clinical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Home Manager to develop and implement effective clinical governance policies and adhere to NICE guidelines and procedures, maintaining compliance with NMC standards and regulatory bodies.
- Provide mentorship and support to nursing staff and caregivers, offering training on current clinical practices including medication management, wound care, and ongoing health assessments of residents.
- Ensure that care records are accurately maintained for all residents, with care plans reflecting individual needs in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Monitor and evaluate clinical standards within the care home, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing necessary changes.
- Work in partnership with the Home Manager and broader management team to foster a positive and supportive work environment that encourages staff engagement, learning, and development.
- Serve as a role model for nursing staff and caregivers, exemplifying best clinical practices and providing leadership and guidance as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- NMC registered nurse with relevant post-registration experience.
- Demonstrated experience as a Nurse Manager or in a similar leadership role within the healthcare sector.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a pleasant demeanor.
- Team-oriented with effective coaching and mentoring abilities.
- Proficient clinical skills with an emphasis on person-centered care.
- Able to perform well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a focus on solutions.
- Proficient in IT, with experience in maintaining electronic records and databases.
