Leadership Opportunity in Airworthiness Management

We are seeking a seasoned professional with extensive experience in airworthiness, design, and leadership to join our team at Leonardo.

As the Airworthiness Director, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the compliance of our design organization with regulatory requirements from Airworthiness Authorities. Your responsibilities will include overseeing design airworthiness, safety management, and continuing airworthiness management.

  • Lead and manage the Airworthiness function, including flight clearance and System Safety team
  • Ensure alignment of Design Organisation expositions with regulatory publications
  • Manage the Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation exposition
  • Assess regulatory changes and their impact on Air Safety
  • Provide independent assurance of design compliance
  • Secure MOD sponsorship and approval for aircraft operations
  • Ensure preparation of Certificates for Flight Trials
  • Represent airworthiness at various safety boards and committees

Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant subject (e.g. aeronautical engineering)
  • Extensive experience in air system design, development, and certification
  • In-depth knowledge of airworthiness regulations
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Experience in both civil and military aviation
  • Chartered Engineer status
