We are seeking a skilled Weighbridge Operator to join our team at NEWBERY RECYCLING LIMITED. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our weighbridge system.
Key Responsibilities:- Accurately input data into the computerized weighbridge system, ensuring all relevant documentation is up-to-date and accurate.
- File and archive all weighbridge documentation, maintaining a secure and organized record of all transactions.
- Work closely with the Site Administrator and Manager to ensure seamless communication and coordination of weighbridge operations.
- Understand and adhere to environmental responsibilities, ensuring all activities are conducted in a safe and sustainable manner.
- Ensure all deliveries to site and collections have all relevant documentation, including weighbridge tickets and other necessary paperwork.
- Accurately input data into the weighbridge system, including weight, volume, and other relevant metrics.
- Complete all weighing operations, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Communicate effectively with yard operatives using the two-way radio system, ensuring clear and concise communication.
- Report any material non-conformances to Supervisors, as advised.
- Monitor traffic movements on site to maintain a safe operating environment, ensuring all personnel and equipment are aware of potential hazards.
- Log all vehicles entering and exiting the site, maintaining accurate records of all movements.
- Ensure all delivery drivers have the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are aware of site rules and regulations.
- In the event of an emergency evacuation, alert all staff using the two-way radio system and conduct a site roll call.
- Complete daily reports for the commercial department, including Weight, Tonnage, and other relevant information.
- Ensure all customer/supplier environmental information is correct and valid, maintaining accurate records of all interactions.
- Report any non-conformances, ensuring prompt attention and resolution.
- Update the computerized weighbridge system with new information as required, ensuring all data is up-to-date and accurate.
- Ensure weighbridge tickets are retained in accordance with Environment Agency Legislation, maintaining a secure and organized record of all transactions.
- Conduct random weight checks to ensure weighbridges are weighing accurately, maintaining a high level of precision and accuracy.
- Ensure weighbridges are always within calibration dates, maintaining a safe and reliable operating environment.
- Attend training courses as reasonably required, ensuring ongoing professional development and improvement.
- Take on new tasks as required, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities.
- Will have a strong customer focus, with the ability to interact with customers professionally and confidently.
- Will be organized, adaptable, physically fit, and motivated, with the ability to work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
- Will have a good appreciation/awareness of our unique working environment, with a strong commitment to safety and sustainability.
- Will be able to work effectively in a team environment, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A competitive hourly rate of £14.75 p/h, with overtime rates of £22.12 p/h.
- A 42.50 hour per week shift pattern, with some Saturday overtime.
