About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Gardener to join our team at Nymans, a stunning garden in the National Trust portfolio. As a key member of our garden team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the garden to a high standard and contributing to the delivery of an exceptional visitor experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the maintenance and development of the garden, including practical horticultural tasks and conservation efforts.
  • Work alongside other gardeners to ensure the garden is presented to the highest standard for visitors.
  • Supervise volunteers and maintain a high level of horticultural standards.
  • Contribute to the delivery of excellent visitor experiences through the garden's plant collections and history.

Requirements

  • Trained as a professional gardener/horticulturist with a minimum of RHS Level 2 (or equivalent) and experience with hard landscaping.
  • A love for sharing knowledge and experience with volunteers, staff, and visitors.
  • Experience with machinery, including tractors, chainsaws, and mowers, and a PA1 & PA6 spraying certificate and CS30 & CS31 chainsaw certificate desirable.
  • A driver with a full licence and able to manage a demanding outdoor role.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
