Category Executive Job Description

At MSA - The Safety Company, we are committed to deploying innovation and technology to deliver on our Mission to help protect people and assets all around the world. We are seeking a skilled Category Executive to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

Category Management:

  • Analyze market trends and supplier economic cycles to inform long-term category strategies.
  • Develop and drive category strategies to achieve maximum life-cycle value and fulfill enterprise-wide requirements.
  • Ensure environmentally- and ethically-sound procurement practices, including compliance with corporate and departmental policies and procedures.

Cost Management:

  • Manage cost through control, analysis, and communication of Purchased Price Variance (PPV) or other relevant financial controls.
  • Conduct and communicate category-based spend analysis.

Supplier Management:

  • Determine and develop appropriate sources of supply and maintain cooperative working relationships with suppliers.
  • Ensure supplier social responsibility and risk mitigation.

Contract Management:

  • Ensure participation in contract creation, reviews, and renewals, developing strategy for alignment and consistency to drive cost synergies.
  • Utilize the contract management system (CMS) in collaboration with the Legal department as the standard repository.

Qualifications:

  • Experience using SAP and spend management solutions.
  • Advanced skills with Excel.
  • Background in Engineering or an Engineering-related field.
