Job Title: Education Support Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Education Support Officer to join our team at Horsham West and Haven Primary School.

About the Role

This is a part-time position that will provide support to teachers and students in a classroom setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing routine support for teachers, including assisting with planning of student routines, providing basic physical care and wellbeing support for students, and communicating with students to support comprehension of basic tasks and information.

The role will also involve addressing immediate behavioural presentations relating to specific students within a classroom setting, providing basic support and supervision for individuals or groups of up to 4 students, and supporting teachers in the coordination of educational programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides routine support for teachers, including assisting with planning of student routines.
  • Provides basic physical care and wellbeing support for students, such as toileting, meals, and lifting.
  • Communicates with students to support comprehension of basic tasks and information.
  • Addresses immediate behavioural presentations relating to specific students within a classroom setting.
  • Provides basic support and supervision for individuals or groups of up to 4 students.
  • Supports teachers in the coordination of educational programs, including rostering and organising the work of a team of aides.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong commitment to providing high-quality support to teachers and students, and be able to work independently and as part of a team. You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
