Position Overview

Job Title: Early Childhood Education Support Specialist

Location: In-Person at a local educational institution

Reporting To: School Principal

Required Qualifications:

  • An Associate's degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field; a valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential; or equivalent qualifications.
  • A positive demeanor and the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
  • Dependability, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Capability to follow instructions and take initiative in various activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children from at-risk backgrounds and their families.
  • Current certification in first aid.
  • Current CPR certification.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist the lead teacher with assigned tasks and responsibilities.
  • Engage with four-year-old children in a supportive and educational manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all student and school-related information.
  • Foster positive interactions with children and their families.
  • Contribute to child assessment documentation.
  • Adhere to all regulations and guidelines related to childcare.
  • Participate in field trips and outdoor activities, demonstrating physical capability.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • This role involves extended periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
  • Occasional lifting of educational materials may be required.
  • Work may occur in both indoor and outdoor settings.

Work Schedule: 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM (Monday-Thursday), 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM (Friday)

Compensation: $15.00 per hour

Benefits: Paid sick leave, personal days, holidays, and snow days.
