Position Overview

The Early Childhood Special Education Teacher will provide services to children age 0-3 and their families under the direct supervision of the Director of Early Childhood Services. This role involves child and family assessment, direct and indirect instructional services, family-centered services, and collaborative consultation with staff, parents, agency personnel, community providers, and administrators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow up on Child Find referrals as assigned by the Director of Early Childhood Services and initiate special education referrals as necessary.
  • Coordinate the evaluation of children age 0-3 suspected of having a disability and serve as the coordinator and representative of the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team.
  • Coordinate educational services for all eligible children age 0-3 meeting special education and/or Part C criteria residing in assigned districts in cooperation with the local director of special education.
