Role Summary:

The Central Payroll Team is tasked with delivering a unified payroll and benefits service to all business units and Group central teams. As a Payroll Operations Specialist, you will report directly to the Payroll Manager and be integral to providing a comprehensive service for compensation and rewards across the Dalkia UK Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the timely and precise execution of weekly and/or monthly payroll calculations and transactions.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of payroll regulations, company policies, and Group Standards, addressing employee inquiries effectively or escalating when necessary.
  • Oversee the administration and management of payroll functions through our outsourced Payroll Bureau service provider.
  • Prepare and input payroll data in accordance with established deadlines.
  • Accurately allocate employee costs to the appropriate contracts/functions.
  • Facilitate seamless payroll data exchanges between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Process timesheets, pay rates, and welfare benefits for all types of employees.
  • Assist the Payroll Manager with end-to-end payroll processes, including payroll report reconciliations prior to BACs transmission.
  • Handle employee expense claims and related payment transactions as required.
  • Generate and distribute payroll reports to relevant departments, including Finance and HR.
  • Ensure compliance with employment contracts and UK statutory regulations.
  • Support Tax Year End activities, including P60's and P11D's.
  • Participate in payroll system testing as needed.

  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with staff at all levels.
  • Collaborative mindset to work effectively within the payroll team.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • Experience in managing end-to-end weekly and monthly payrolls.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Working Rule Agreements is advantageous.
  • Proficient in payroll software and Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting.
