Your Role

As a Room Supervisor, you will foster strong relationships with both parents and children daily.

You will assist in managing daily routines, including nap times, meal times, and engaging activities. Your responsibilities will include fairly distributing tasks within your team and supporting their professional development. As the Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will ensure adherence to all safeguarding protocols. In the absence of the Deputy Manager, you will take on their responsibilities. You will serve as a role model in all aspects of your work, from implementing educational activities to mentoring your colleagues. Your Expertise

  • Establishing nurturing relationships with children, families, and your colleagues
  • Welcoming new team members and children into your room, ensuring smooth transitions
  • Inspiring creativity and empowerment in learners through engaging experiences and a stimulating environment
  • Communicating effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and activities
  • Leading your room with a responsible and attentive approach, upholding policies and procedures
  • Supporting management by relaying instructions and providing feedback on team performance
  • Training your team to achieve their full potential and fostering positive changes in your setting

Your Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of child development from birth to age 5 and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
  • Familiarity with extracurricular activities, including STEM, phonics, Makaton, and yoga
  • Minimum Level 2 qualification in Childcare, working towards Level 3
  • Minimum grade 4 or grade C in Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent)
  • Best practices in safeguarding, health & safety, and confidentiality
  • Knowledge of medication administration, First Aid, and critical care policies
  • Problem-solving skills in line with Fennies' policies and procedures
