About the Role

The Finance Assistant role at PolarSeal is a varied position that involves working closely with the Finance Team to ensure the smooth operation of financial processes. The main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Costing and financial analysis: Calculating and checking costing, investigating variances, and reporting to the Finance Manager.
  • Accounts Receivable: Maintaining the Accounts Receivable ledger, handling queries, issuing credit notes, and conducting credit checks on new and existing customers.
  • Accounts Payable: Supporting the Accounts Payable function, verifying supplier bank details, invoices, and payments before approval, and covering bank reconciliations when team members are on holiday.
  • Financial reporting: Preparing working papers for monthly and annual accounts and reconciliations, supporting the completion of the annual audit, and maintaining the Fixed Asset Register.
  • VAT and R&D claims: Supporting the preparation of VAT returns and reconciliations, completing ONS Surveys as required, and assisting in compiling data for R&D Claims.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in finance, be proactive in their approach to work, have a high level of attention to detail, and possess strong Excel skills. They will also be required to work on an ERP system.

This is an office-based role, offering a salary of £29,000 per annum working 40-hours per week. We would consider candidates looking for part-time work, minimum 28 hours per week, where salary and holiday would be pro-rata.
