SW9 Community Housing is a resident-led social housing charity dedicated to delivering exceptional housing management and maintenance services to its residents. With a strong focus on community engagement and customer satisfaction, we are seeking an experienced Income Officer to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Income Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective collection of rent, service charges, and other income owed to SW9 Community Housing. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and manage rent, service charges, and other income owed to SW9 Community Housing
  • Manage the Direct Debit process, including creation, amendment, and closure
  • Liaise with local authorities and the Department of Work and Pensions regarding Housing Benefit and Universal Credit claims
  • Chase progress of Housing Benefit and Universal Credit applications and overpayments
  • Prepare paperwork for service of notices, possession proceedings, formal demands, and evictions
  • Attend Court and First-Tier Tribunals to represent SW9 Community Housing in rent and service charge related cases
Requirements
  • Maths and English GCSE (Grade C or above) or equivalent
  • Degree or equivalent, training, or experience in a related field
  • Professional Housing Qualification or willingness to work towards
