About the Role

Amentum is a leading global technical and engineering services partner, renowned for our operational excellence, mission focus, and successful execution underpinned by a strong culture of safety and ethics.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Lead Engineer (Digital Integration) to join our team on a permanent basis, working on major projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Manage, lead, coordinate, implement, and perform single-discipline engineering activities for assigned projects within our major project portfolio.
  • Design Control: Review and manage control of design on a project, including production of Design Control Plans (DCP), design review management, and design change control.
  • Engineering Deliverables: Produce appropriate engineering deliverables, including Bases of Design (BoD), analysis, calculations, drawings/diagrams, and specifications.
  • Risk Management: Manage and coordinate technical risk management activities, including risk management strategy and planning, risk identification and assessment, risk mitigation, and risk register production and maintenance.
  • Requirements Management: Coordinate the management of requirements, including understanding of systems engineering principles, requirements identification, configuration control, validation, and verification.
  • Engineering Delivery Baselines: Manage and coordinate the development of engineering delivery baselines, including scope definition, input to project management deliverables (WBS, schedule, estimate, etc.), and project execution plan/engineering execution plan.
  • Project Delivery and Reporting: Coordinate oversight of project delivery and project reporting, including rules of credit, progress monitoring and reporting, and recovery planning.
  • Delivery Partners and Supply Chain: Engage with and oversee delivery partners and supply chain organisations, including specification of engineering and technical requirements, technical assessment of tenders, management of TQs and concessions, and management of supply chain deliverables.
  • Nuclear Industry Standards: Understand and work within/nuclear industry standard gated delivery processes and understand and work with/nuclear industry standard gated delivery processes.
Nuclear Specific Engineering Responsibilities
  • UK Nuclear Site Licence Conditions: Experience and knowledge of the UK nuclear site licence conditions and specifically those related to engineering.
  • Configuration Controlled Nuclear Baseline: Knowledge of configuration controlled nuclear baseline throughout the project facility lifecycle.
  • Nuclear Site Licence Company Procedures: Experience of nuclear site licence company procedures.
  • Generic Nuclear New-Build Safety Case: Knowledge of generic nuclear new-build safety case, including stages and key deliverables, design change control, and engineering deliverables.
  • UK Nuclear Facility Operational Safety Case: Solid and proven knowledge of UK nuclear facility operational safety case, including design change control/configuration management, facility modification, and periodic review of safety.
  • Design Substantiation Process: Knowledge of design substantiation process and interactions with the nuclear safety case.
  • Quality Control and Nuclear Safety: Experience of quality control and the relationship between nuclear safety and the project lifecycle.
  • UK Nuclear and Environmental Regulators: Knowledge of the UK nuclear and environmental regulators and their interactions with UK nuclear site licence companies.
Position Requirements
  • Education: Ideally a Bachelor's degree in an engineering or science subject or demonstrated equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
  • Professional Membership: Possess or working towards Professional membership of a relevant chartered body.
  • Experience: Proven experience working in a complex/major project engineering delivery environment, including part in a supervisory capacity managing a single-discipline engineering delivery team and management of engineering supply chain organisations.
  • Security Clearance: Currently hold SC or prepared to go through the SC process.
