Job Description

As our Environmental Sustainability Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting our business to develop and implement strategies and programs that promote sustainability and reduce our environmental impact. You will be part of a dynamic team that is passionate about creating a positive and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Sustainability Strategies: Create, develop, and implement environmental strategies, policies, and action plans that align with our business goals and objectives.
  • Promote Sustainable Practices: Be the pioneer on sustainable procurement for all goods and services, ensuring that our business operations are environmentally responsible and sustainable.
  • Manage Environmental Risks: Coordinate all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation, and renewable energy to ensure compliance with relevant environmental legislation.
  • Represent the Company: Represent DO&CO in all environmental issues while liaising with relevant bodies such as local authorities, public, and competent bodies.
  • Monitor and Report Environmental Performance: Audit, analyze, and report environmental performance to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Identify and Reduce Environmental Risks: Direct and supervise impact assessments to identify, evaluate, and reduce our environmental risks and financial costs to the business.
  • Promote Environmental Awareness: Promote and raise awareness across the business of the impact of emerging environmental issues.
  • Implement Best Practices: Implement best practice in areas of corporate, ethical, and social responsibility and address any issues arising.
  • Develop Environmental Management Systems: Develop and implement environmental management systems to continually improve the impact of the organization on the environment.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable Experience: Demonstrable experience working in sustainability and the environment.
  • Sustainability Knowledge: Good understanding of major sustainability disclosure frameworks (such as GRI, SASB, CDP, Ecovadis).
  • ISO 14001: Experience in supporting projects to understand and improve environmental and social supply chain impacts.
  • Self-Motivation and Resilience: Self-motivation, resilience, and a positive change champion for DO & CO in a fast-paced environment that requires flexibility and adapting.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and precise record-keeping skills.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to influence different departments to suggest, implement, and track more efficient processes.
  • Strong Relationships: Build strong relationships with colleagues, mentoring, and motivating, creating a team spirit, encouraging them to be at their best.
  • Clear Communication: Clear and engaging communicator, strong written and verbal English.
  • Project Management: Experience working with diverse functions and people to deliver projects on time with high quality.
